Summer School Style Series Day #19

Today's outfit is a casual one that I put on after school to take my boys to Disneyland. I took them BY MYSELF. AM I nuts?! Yeah. A little. We had so much fun, albeit a little stressful for me, but I always wanted to know if I could do it at their ages. I think once my baby gets bigger and can understand more, then we will be in business. But, mission accomplished in reinstating a "fun Mom" association with them. Being so busy with work, teaching this summer, working extra this year, was hard on them and when I came home, I was stressed, I yelled. I was less than a "fun Mom" I was a "stressed Mom" and it took a toll. So, I vowed to myself to be at home, be present, be "fun Mom" while still being a "good Mom" that disciplines and loves those boys.

Working full-time and teaching other people's kids often leaves us giving our own kids the "leftover" energy and that isn't fair to them. It is all about recognizing where we can give more to our own family, while still giving to our students, the kids we sort of adopt for the year.
