You Give Me Fever.

Dude.

What is it about sick kids that throws off your life? Oh, maybe EVERYTHING. From being up all night watching them, taking temperatures, listening to any sounds that are out of the ordinary... But most of all, fevers freak me out. Even though I know it is the body's natural defense system kicking into high gear to fight off infections, they always make me nervous in young kids, especially my two-year-old. The younger they are, the more it freaks me out.

I was up for a solid few hours, and outside of that I didn't get much quality sleep so that of course, affected my mood today. At one point, I snapped at my oldest son and I felt badly about it. He just wanted to go and play and because I was the only one around today, he had to be on the sick train, which was pulling into the "Secret Life Of Pets" station ALL. DAY. LONG.  So, I explained later that because I was up with his brother, I was tired, and if he could be an extra helpful guy today, I'd be appreciative and I'd make it up to him later.

When my youngest fell asleep, I was able to leave him with my husband and get out with my oldest and make things slightly better. I believe in explaining and apologizing, so I hope he could partially understand. If not, I will just have to continue to show him that I love him and his brother, and after a good night's rest, I should be back to being a better parent tomorrow.

What do YOU do to make up a situation like this to one of your kids? I'd love to know. Until then, shop my RBF Mom look below. Give me a follow on liketoknow.it/trenddteacher to see and shop all my outfits.
